Emily told John about her dreams after deciding she could no longer keep them to herself. Her voice was tremulous as she murmured, “I keep seeing this shadowy figure.” John paid close attention. “It seems to be observing me, anticipating something.” John scowled in worry. Why didn’t you inform me earlier? Gently, he inquired. Emily looked down and shrugged. She answered, “I didn’t want to worry you.” Now, however, it was obvious that something was seriously off.

John began to see the connection between Emily’s dreams and Max’s actions. During one of their late-night conversations, he proposed that “it’s too much to be a coincidence.” “There must be a connection between them.” Emily agreed, but she remained doubtful. However, what may it be? She inquired. John had nothing to say. He stated resolutely, “I don’t know, but I’m going to find out.” She felt somewhat soothed by the resolve in his voice.
