Florence Welch
Welch, the 34-year old singer, spoke about her path to sobriety in a 2015 interview with Billboard, saying: “I used to drink before every performance, I’m quite shy, really… that’s probably why I used to drink a lot. But I don’t anymore. When I finally took time off to make this new record, I had time to strengthen. And when I was coming back into the fray, I really didn’t want to lose that. I thought I could go dive-bomb back into it, but look what happened. I dived into it and literally broke myself.” She has now been 7 years sober, on-going!
Lily Allen
Singer Allen recently celebrated 18 months of sobriety. She has been very vocal about her journey over the years, even appearing on podcast The Recovery in order to talk about her struggles. Allen married Stranger Things Actor David Harbour last year, saying: He’s sober, has been sober for 20 years now. We’re thinking about what we’re going to do with the rest of our lives… I don’t have as much as I had then in terms of success and wealth, but I have success and health in my mind, which is more valuable I think.’
